Water flow.

The main pump is constantly on, and the return pump attached to the spray bar is on for 23 hours. The spray bar is angled towards the surface of the water as to agitate it.
Don’t point the spar bar directly up; this will result in wet floors.
I have found that the water flow cascades against the glass and noticed detritus being pushed past the filter which isn’t being drawn in. See diagram below.

To combat this I have installed a ‘Korola Nano’ powerhead, this will be on for half an hour, once a day when the spray bar is off. Thus acting like a tide or storm surge, lifting detritus off coral and substrate. See diagram below.

Once the powerhead has finished we have a grace period of half an hour, this allows the filter pump to suck in all the detritus. See diagram below
